The Brooklyn Ghost Run

Six haunted stops from Brooklyn Heights to the Navy Yard: an abandoned 1844 tunnel, H.P. Lovecraft's old apartment, a Revolutionary War battle house, a prison-ship crypt and a forgotten naval cemetery. Pick your pace and start time and the page works out your timing, with every stop checked against its opening hours.

Set your pace

Everything below recalculates as you move the sliders. The default is an easy 10:00/mile with 4 minutes at each stop for photos and reading plaques.

Stop times are spent before moving on to the next stop. Opening hours were pulled from Google Places in October 2026; confirm before you go, especially for the Old Stone House and the Naval Cemetery.

The route

An illustrated map of the route. Each stop shows the time you will reach it, and it updates when you change your start time. Use the Google Maps button for turn-by-turn street directions.

A ghost tour that covers the start of the route, and a way to shorten the run.

Haunted Brooklyn Heights tour

Runs in October · about 2 hours, 1.3 miles · $40

A guided ghost tour that meets at the Henry Ward Beecher statue in Cadman Plaza and ends near Clinton St and Atlantic Ave, close to the first three stops of this run. The tour page listed only "October" for dates, so check the booking link for 2026 availability.

The short version, about 3 miles

Skip the Old Stone House

Run Plymouth Church, the Lovecraft house, the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel, Fort Greene Park and the Naval Cemetery, and skip the long loop south to Park Slope. That drops the run from about 5 miles to about 3. The Old Stone House is the stop to skip, and it is also the only one with limited hours (Friday to Sunday, noon to 4 PM).
